Welcome to the Elementary Music Page
Elementary music classes provide students with a unique opportunity to learn about the world around them through music. Students at the Elementary level learn key musical concepts of rhythm and pitch as well as facts about composers and styles of music.
The elementary music classes have two concerts throughout the year where they are able to showcase what they have learned about music. Elementary students also participate in collaborative activities with other classes that involve music such as art.
The most recent happenings in Elementary include Mr.Ziemer's 3rd grade music class where they had the opportunity to work with Ms.Pepper's High School drawing and painting class. Their task was to create a piece of art that described as song that was assigned to them. The first section of 3rd graders in Mr. Ziemer's class had "Happy" by Pharrell Williams and the second section had "Firework" by Katy Perry. Their art was then displayed in the hallway leading to the music room. Their art can be viewed in the gallery on the right.
